The Upstate New York Masonry Chapter is continuing its collaboration with the Syracuse School of Architecture and Syracuse Habitat for Humanity to construct two new homes on Hixson Ave. in Syracuse, NY. Final drawings have been completed and a construction permit for both homes is expected soon.
The design created by Julie Larsen and Roger Hubeli form the Syracuse School of Architecture uses load bearing masonry walls and an exterior stucco finish. Habitat for Humanity is extremely excited to be using durable, cost effective and energy efficient masonry products for what is considered to be the first of its kind design for Habitat.
The houses will be built using volunteers from MCAA contractors to complete the footings, foundations and masonry bearing walls.
Please contact Brett Sherman at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be a volunteer or donate any services.
